Ravello sits on a ridge high above Amalfi and Minori, with some of the widest views on the whole coast. It's quieter and more refined than the villages at sea level, known for its gardens, its summer music festival and its evenings.

What staying in Ravello is like
For villa guests it offers something rare on the Amalfi Coast: a little more space. Properties here often have gardens and terraces as well as views, and some of the coast's larger villas are in and around the town.
Days start slowly on the terrace, looking down the coast. Mornings might be spent in the gardens of Villa Rufolo or walking out to the Terrace of Infinity at Villa Cimbrone. Afternoons are for a boat, a beach below in Minori or Maiori, or the pool.
In the evening, when day visitors have gone, the town becomes calm. Dinner in the piazza, a concert in summer, and a quiet walk back to the villa.

- Some properties are reached by footpath from the nearest road. We'll tell you exactly how access works.
- If you're traveling for the summer festival, book well ahead.

- The festival season. Ravello's height keeps evenings a little cooler than the coast.

- Warm, clear and quieter. Excellent for walking.

Getting there and around

- Ravello is about a 15 to 20 minute drive up from Amalfi on a winding road. Beaches are below, in Minori, Maiori and Amalfi.
- Naples airport (NAP) is typically around an hour and a half or more away by car.
- A driver for trips down to the coast is useful, though buses and taxis run in season.

Is Ravello too far from the beach?
The nearest beaches are a short drive below, in Minori, Maiori and Amalfi, and many guests combine a villa pool with boat days. If you want to walk to the beach every day, Positano or Amalfi suit better.
Is Ravello good for a wedding?
It's one of the Amalfi Coast's most popular places for small, elegant weddings. Only some villas permit events, so tell us early and we'll look at those.
Is Ravello quieter than Positano?
Yes, especially in the evening. It has a calmer, more refined pace, while Positano is livelier and busier.
