When to visit Amalfi Coast
- April and May
- Flowers everywhere, pleasant walking weather and fewer crowds. The sea is still cool.
- June to August
- Peak season. Warm sea, long evenings and busy roads. Book villas well ahead.
- September and October
- Warm water and a calmer pace. Many people's favorite time to visit.
- November to March
- Much of the coast is closed, with limited ferries and restaurants.

Getting there, groups and local tips
Getting there
- Naples (NAP) is the closest airport, typically an hour or more by car depending on where you stay.
- Private transfers are the easiest way to arrive. The coastal road is narrow and busy, and driving it yourself is not relaxing.
- Ferries link Positano, Amalfi, Salerno and Capri in season.
For groups
- Large villas are limited on the coast itself. The Sorrento peninsula and Ravello have more space.
- Access can involve many steps. Tell us about anyone with limited mobility.
- Parking is scarce. Check whether a villa has it if you plan to drive.
Local tips
- Ask about the steps. Some villas are reached by a hundred or more.
- A villa with a pool is valuable here: many beaches are small and pebbly.
- Book restaurants and boat days in advance in summer.
- Consider a few nights in Capri or Naples to round out the trip.
