What staying in Saint-Tropez is like
Most villas are outside the town itself, in the hills of Ramatuelle and Gassin or close to the beaches, often surrounded by vines, with big pools and sea views.
Days usually include the beach. Pampelonne, which actually belongs to neighboring Ramatuelle, is lined with beach clubs and restaurants where lunch can last all afternoon. Evenings bring people back to the harbor in Saint-Tropez, or up to the hill villages for a quieter dinner.
The market in the Place des Lices, held on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, is a highlight, and the surrounding Côtes de Provence vineyards produce much of the rosé the region is known for.
